Free GPS track and waypoint converters 

The most popular converter for GPS tracks, waypoints and routes is GPSBabel. It is free and open-source utility that runs on all Windows platforms, Linux and Mac OS. GPSBabel supports conversion between different file formats and has possibility for data filtering. There are two executable files in the archive, gpsbabel.exe - which is command line utility, and GPSBabelGUI.exe - a simple GUI interface which doesn't support drag&drop. If you often need to convert multiple files, the GUI interface is not very easy to use. It's better to use BAT file instead. I've made launchers for different file format conversions which simply execute GPSBabel with the necessary command line parameters. Those launchers allow drag-and-drop of multiple files for easy batch converting of GPS tracks, waypoints and routes. You just have to create a shortcut on your desktop to the launcher and you will be able to convert fast and easy your files by dragging onto the icon. The converted files are saved in the same folder as the source files. Another way to use the launchers is to pass the file to be converted as command-line parameter. You can also pass multiple file names in the command line for batch processing. The launchers have been tested on Windows XP Home edition and Windows Vista. All software on this page is freeware and can be distributed freely.
